Associate Assistant Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, 2008-2014
Angela Espada, J.D.joined the IU School of Law - Indianapolis in 1990. As Associate Dean of Students for the IU School of Law - Indianapolis, Espada coordinated services in admissions, registration, professional development, scholarship, financial aid, and counseling. She also taught law courses at both IU-School of Law - Indianapolis and IU School of Law - Bloomington. Espada is a former staff attorney of the Indiana Supreme Court and a former deputy prosecuting attorney.
Espada took a leave of absence from IU Indianapolis for the 2008-2009 school year after being selected as an American Council on Education Fellow. As a fellow, she participated in professional development programs geared towards administrators in higher education. Upon returning to IU Indianapolis, Espada became Associate Assistant Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. From 2012 to 2014, she also directed the Norman Brown Diversity Leadership Scholars Program.
Espada is a past recipient of the Glenn W. Irwin Experience Excellence Award and the Joseph E. Taylor Excellence in Diversity Award. She was also selected as the 2008 Distinguished Alumni of the Year for the University of Indianapolis. Espada is currently a consultant for Post-Bach and Professional School Preparation.
