A champion of the benefits of international learning opportunities on an undergraduate education, Dawn M. Whitehead, Ph.D. served as Director of Curriculum Internationalization at IU Indianapolis. In this role, she developed study abroad programming for IU Indianapolis students and secured international partnerships. Whitehead led a campus initiative focused on global learning, internationalizing curriculum, and international service learning. She frequently collaborated with IU Indianapolis’s Center for Service and Learning to add a service learning component to international student experiences.
In addition, Whitehead served as the faculty director for international service learning programs in Costa Rica, Ghana, Kenya, and Swaziland. She also led international initiatives for the Honors College and taught courses on Global and International Studies. Whitehead is currently the Senior Director for Global Learning and Curricular Change, Office of Integrative Liberal Learning and the Global Commons at the Association of American Colleges & Universities.
