Chancellor's Professor of Medicine
Janice Froehlich, Ph.D. holds appointments in the departments of cellular and integrative physiology and medical neurobiology at the Indiana University School of Medicine at IU Indianapolis. Froehlich has worked at the university since 1981, and became an assistant professor in 1985. In 2005, she was named a Chancellor's Professor.
Froehlich's research interests include alcoholism and addiction. She is also interested in interdisciplinary research and has served for several years as a liaison between the Indiana University School of Medicine and the other schools at IU Indianapolis, working to build cooperative interdisciplinary research projects. Her efforts on behalf of research at the university resulted in her appointments in 2005 as the Interim Vice-Chancellor for Research and the Interim Associate Vice-President for Research.
