Executive Associate Dean, IU Indianapolis Honors College, 2018-P
As a Professor of Communication Studies, Kristina Horn Sheeler, Ph.D. inspires IU Indianapolis students to think differently about political communication and gender. Sheeler is a widely published author on the topic and recently published an acclaimed book looking at gender roles in presidential races (Woman President: Confronting Postfeminist Political Culture, 2013). Sheeler is a 4-time winner of IU Indianapolis Trustees Teaching Awards.
From 2015 to 2017, Sheeler served as Associate Dean for Academic Programs within the IU School of Liberal Arts. She also chaired the Department of Communication Studies. In December 2017, Sheeler was chosen for the role of Executive Associate Dean of the IU Indianapolis Honors College. Her new position includes strategic planning efforts for the college and oversight of its 1,100 high-ability undergraduate students.
