Maggie Stimming worked in human resources at IU Indianapolis for over 16 years. A certified wellness program manager, Stimming was the first person to hold the human resources work/life position at IU Indianapolis, starting in 2001. As the program's Senior Work/Life Consultant, she was IU Indianapolis's one-and-only work-life position. Stimming was highly successful in this role, bringing valuable "life" education to faculty, staff, and students and initiating flexible work, wellness, financial literacy and culture change efforts. She is also credited with opening nursing mothers' rooms across campus.
Stimming served as IU Indianapolis's liaison for the InShape Indiana initiative and received the Governor's Innovation Award for her efforts. She also initiated IU Indianapolis's relationship with Central Indiana Commuter Services and served as one of the leaders in offering central Indiana's first conference for work/life professionals. Stimming was the recipient of the 2010 WorldatWork Alliance for Work-Life Progress's Work-Life Rising Star Award.
