Maude Arthur, M.D.
First Female Graduate, Indiana University School of Medicine
Dr. Arthur was the first female graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine. She enrolled at the medical school in 1904 and graduated in 1908. Arthur had previously been a student at Vincennes University, graduating in 1903 and Franklin College, graduating in 1904. She had also spent a year teaching in the Glendale Schools. Nothing is known about Arthur's subsequent career in medicine.
