Roberta Greene, Ph.D. led the Indiana University School of Social Work, headquartered at IU Indianapolis, from August 1994 to c. 1999. Greene is an expert in gerontology and an activist on issues of aging. She was instrumental in the 1987 passage of the Nursing Home Reform Act. Greene has written extensively on the subject of aging and social welfare. Her book, Human Behavior Theory: A Diversity Framework, was one of the first social work theory texts of its kind.
Greene is a fellow of the Gerontology Society of America. She is currently a professor and Louis and Ann Wolens Centennial Chair in Gerontology and Social Welfare at the University of Texas at Austin.
