Associate Dean for Research, School of Medicine
A professor of medicine, Rose Fife, M.D.has held many important roles within the Indiana University School of Medicine since she joined the faculty in 1981. She is the former director of the Indiana University Outpatient Clinical Research Facility and a former Assistant Dean for Research. Fife became Associate Dean for Research in 2000. As Associate Dean, she supports graduate students and professors who need external funding for their research projects.
Since 1997, Fife has also held the position of Founding Director of the National Center of Excellence in Women's Health, a center designed to serve as a model for clinical care, training, research, education, and leadership. Fife's research interests focus on the epidemiology of family violence, and she currently co-directs research in this field within the Center of Excellence. Fife is the 2004 winner of the School of Nursing's Boundary Spanning Award and the 2006 winner of the Glenn W. Irwin, Jr., M.D. Research Scholar Award.
