Tralicia Powell Lewis is committed to the success of students at IU Indianapolis. As Assistant Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Lewis is responsible for promoting policies that foster learning and success among students. The Division of Student Affairs is tasked with engaging students in the learning process and advocating for perseverance to graduation. In her role as Assistant Vice Chancellor, Lewis also oversees the offices of student health, educational partnerships & student advocacy, counseling & psychology services, and campus recreation.
Lewis has been a staff member within the Division of Student Affairs since 1995. She has served in a variety of capacities, including Director of Residence Life, Associate Director of Housing & Residence Life, and Assistant Dean of Students. Lewis also served as Interim Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs in 2016.
A true champion of students, Lewis has received several awards for her efforts. She is the 2000 recipient of the Mike Wagoner “Champion” for All Students Award, the 2005 recipient of the Chancellor Gerald Bepko Staff Council Spirit Award, and the 2011 recipient of the SAAS Attentive Advocate Award.
